Dutch Card Lovers #171 and CCCB #143

It's already Sunday evening....
There is a new week ahead and I have two cards to share; both cards are for two challenges.

At the Dutch Card Lovers challenge we are supposed to use  at least 5 colors from this color scheme

At the City Crafter Challenge we are supposed to use  hearts on your projects:

I made two cards; one for one of my nieces. She is expecting her 2nd child in August.
My second card is for one of my nephews; he and his family moved into a new house.
To use all the colors I grabbed one of my favorite papers from October Afternoon "Woodland Park".  That floral pattern is one of my faves. I also used some felt embellishments; that cute felt butterfly was sent to me by Ros and the wooden hearts and bird were a gift from one of my colleagues; Thea I added a few stitches and some twine.
Here is the card for my niece:

And this card is for my nephew:

Got to make myself a cup of tea before I go to bed; till soon! Stella X

50 years

We are experiencing a bit of winter here (according to Dutch stndards) and the weatherforecast says there is snow coming our way. Sipping from my tea on this Sunday afternoon;  a perfect time for a post and some blogging!
Last friday, the husband  of my sister Jacqueline celebrated his 50th birthday. We could not join the party but I did send a card.  Masculine cards are still challenging for me and I hope to improve my skills on masculine cards in 2013.  I kept it quite simple; I tried to create something as CAS as possible. Another challenge hee hee!
Fishtails and banners are my fave item to add to a card lately and this card is no exception.

A bit of brown, grey and green and a button. Papers from MME.  Felt numbers, twine and button from my stash.

Enjoy your sunday, stay warm ... Till soon, Stella X

October Afternoon

is one of my favorite brand of papers lately.... I am in love with their Woodland Park paper pad and I created this card. (a while ago but never posted it.) That cute little wooden birdie was a gift from one of my colleagues Thea Paired up washi tape to create a few fishtails I am pleased how this turned out!

For Dutch standards it's cold here; the western and southern part of the country are covered with snow; we did get no snow at all. ( And no slippery roads here; thankful for that!) But it's freezing outside and I think I am going to make myself a big cup of tea before I tuck myself in :) Enjoy your evening! (or day...)

Start of 2013

and feeling a bit ashamed since it has been 2 months since I logged in on my Blogger account. A lot has happened; good things; happiness, wonderful holidays, a busy schedule. And a few things on our plate which I can describe "as a bit tough to chew on". But we are healthy, happy and I am also feeling a bit guilty for being away from my blog for such a long time.
There are a few friends still waiting for an email and I have also some gorgeous gifts to share.
One of my resolutions for 2013 is improving my photography skills. During fall and winter I have a hard time taking photos of my cards. Which made me decide to add a light-tent to my shopping list Is anyone having tips?
I made af ew cards last week and this weekend I took some photos. Depending on daylight is a bit tricky in the winter but making cards in the evening and taking pictures during the weekend is a solution for this moment. But still...a lighttent:)
My kick off for 2013 is a card I made for the City Crafter…
