Mainly white

Finally time to post a card for a challenge; I has been a whirlwind of a week! At first I want to thank each  of you for your birthday wishes. I received some lovely gifts,  lots of gorgeous birthday cards  and it was a relaxed and fun day. We had almost tropical temperatures here in  Holland and I am glad that it's less hot now.  And today with less heat and more time I made a card for the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch:

Mainly white with a small splash of emerald Very Clean And Very Simple :)

Yes the songbird die again and  a background stamp from  the Painted Petals set from SU:

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy your day!

City Crafter #322

Hello!
It´s Tuesday and that means  a new challenge for you  at the City Crafter Challenge.  Today Kirsty is our host
 and she picked the theme:
"Postcard from the world"

(source)

Make a project that includes postage,
a postmark, or a travel theme.

I went with the postage and
created a sort of baby stamp.
Using an oldie; the embossing folder and die
which I received when I bought my Cuttlebug
back in 2008.
You could say it's a bit retro:)

A little gift tag to add  to a present for a baby girl.  Pale pink and white  and a touch of neutrals; using  hemp cord and a wooden heart:

We are having Kathy Schweinfurth asour Guest Designer;  You can see more of her  lovely cards on her blog!

A bit different

I love CAS cards and most of the  times I use lots of white.   But I also want to learn to create  cards with more color, layering  and using other materials.
Speaking of mixed media.
I tried a few things and I know that   there's a lot of inspiration and  tutorials on You Tube and Pinterest.  But there is so much to learn so I  attended a mixed media workshop  back in May at "Bij Oma Dee". And I discovered a whole new world  of techniques, layers and colors.
The workshop was amazing,  Miranda's hospitality and shop are fab  and it was a great day!  But I wasn't very productive:)  I came home with 2 tags that were almost finished.  The workshop kit was filled to the brim  so there is still more to make.
To start easy I made my first tag  with shades of blue distress ink.   The sentiment is from Tim Holtz too.
And so are the stencil and
embossing paste I used:

Back home I added a splatter stamp  from Precious Remembrance, teared some washi tape and  added a few small embellishments.  A bit…

City Crafter # 321

Good morning!
Every tuesday there is new
challenge up at the City Crafter. Today Marina is our host and she picked the theme:
"Typically Tropical"

(source)

This week's theme fits the weather in Holland;
we are having a few hot summer days!
On to the challenge:
I know that flamingoes and pineapples
are on trend but I don't have them.
 Neither do I have palmtrees
or other tropical items.
So I just used what I did have.
And that's a piece of paper which
-in my opinion- fits the challenge.
Sent to me by Marit.
And due the colors of my paper
I decided to make a
masculine birthday card.
And that's a personal challenge:)

The leafs have a tropical touch but it's  also a bit of a jungle look :)  Instead of bright colors it's    a mix of various shades of green:

On request

A few weeks ago I made a  birthday gift tag which you can see here. One of my colleagues asked  me to create another gift tag for  a young woman who had to pass her exam. I know she liked soft colours.  I was also asked to add a soft and elegant touch. Feminine but not to sweet; Right up my alley!
A perfect opportunity to use   -what I consider-  my best buy  e-v-e-r. The songbird stamps and dies from Papertrey Ink. Paired up with a sentiment from  the Birthday Cheer set; also from Papertrey Ink.  The Songbird set contains so many lovely elements. And they add enough interesting details  without the idea of "overloading" a card.
So I added: Pale rose cardstock (you can buy it here) Lots of white A touch of gold

I made a mini envelop and  adhered it on the back of this tag. The perfect place to tuck in  some money or a gift card:

City Crafter #320

Hello and good morning!

It's my turn to host this weeks'
challenge at theCity Crafter
I choose the theme:
"On the border"

Add a border to your project;
on the left, right, on top or bottom of your card.

(source)

I came up with a border made from scraps
and used my favorite border die:)

I love a mix of fonts and this stamp  is another favorite lately:

City Crafter #319

Hello!

It´s Tuesday and that means  a new challenge for you  at the City Crafter Challenge.  Today Kirsty is our host
 and she picked the theme:
"The book of love"

(source)

Create a mini book or album or use a book or page.
An extra option: add the theme of love.

I choose the book page and the theme of love.
And made a wedding anniversary card.
CAS as usual:)

The background is a page of an  old Dutch literature book. I bought it years ago in  the thrift store for €1,00! The sentiment is from the "Little You"  stamp set from Crate Paper.  After buying both paper pads I  had to buy the coordinating stamps too :)

We are having Dora asour Guest Designer;  Dora is the winnner of challenge #313  You can see more of her  lovely cards on her blog!

A new house

For my eldest sister and her husband.  And that's a perfect reason to send them a card.   Which I made this morning while we had heavy rainshowers.  Now the sun is shining and I am off to my garden; soaking up a bit of sun before it's gone again :)

Enjoy your Sunday!  Stella
